Pachnoda Grubs

Pachnoda Grubs

Pachnoda Grubs are extremely easy to rear and breed in captivity providing that you follow some basic care instructions.

You will first need to obtain a suitable storage/breeding container that is deep enough to hold 4-6 inches of substrate and has a tight fitting lid with ventilation. Any tank or plastic tub will do, but a container 12inches squared should be large enough to keep a mixture of 200 Pachnoda Grubs or Adult beetles. The best substrate that we recommend is either potting soil or peat and mixing in some extra leaf litter and dead wood. This should be added to the container in two levels; The bottom layer should be 2-3 inches deep and should be compressed by hand to form a firm base layer. This layer will be used by the females when laying eggs. On top of this you should add a further layer of loose soil/peat to form the top layer which is where the grubs will live while they develop.
